Breakthrough Strategies for Multicultural Communications

As the U.S. Latino and Hispanic population continues to boom, it’s critical that we find effective ways to communicate. In CT, Hispanic is the fastest growing population and nationally it is the largest ethnic population by 2010. Communicating with this rapidly growing demographic is about more than simply translating messages or materials to Spanish or targeting Spanish-based media. It is critical for communicators to understand that other factors such as culture, religion, heritage, and family beliefs weigh heavily in the decision making process.
